This is not AaML as you have gathered, and i accept it may be regarded as somewhat controversial and bitchy. personally i don't care, i felt like doing this and so i did. this is in response to the people in Sudan who are calling for not only punishment, but strict punishment on the English school teacher who named the class bear Mohammed. now, i would like to stress the following point. The teacher did not name it herself as a deliberate attempt to annoy war-mongerers. The class of young children had a vote, and a boy called Mohammed wanted to name the bear by the same name, and this was agreed. The people of Sudan are on there own in this issue, their actions have been condemned by other Muslims around the world yet still they persist, and quite frankly, it PISSES ME OFF! FFS now i'm not having a go solely at Islam, but any religious group that behaves in this manner should seriously consider its priorities in my oppinion. as i understand it, naming the bear Mohammed does not contradict any laws of Islam, as the bear was not created for the purpose of calling it Mohammed.
anyway here endeth my rant, and i just hope that the people of Sudan see sense and drop the entire case. would it be so difficult to rename the bear?
well i gathered the family into the living room the other day to discuss the issue of naming my new stuffed Pikachu. after much deliberation we decided to call it...Jesus
Right on! The only "issue" I have with this picture is that YOU BEAT ME TO IT!"
This is an entirely ridiculous situation brought on by an EXTREMELY-EXTREMIST interpretation of Sharia law. I mean--how can letting children name a beloved teddy bear after the Prophet be 1) insulting to the Prophet or Islam or 2) spreading hatred of Islam?!?
I'm sure the children named the bear out of "love for the Prophet."

lol another interesting thing is how we've both had to stop ourselves for fear of going 'too far'. once upon a time we wouldn't have had to worry, and whilst i agree that inciting hatred is wrong, i do not agree with the level of caution it seems to be compulsory to take now. For example, several different county counsils here have actually taken down Christmas lights (which is an established festival in what is, prodominantly, a christian nation, though of course Christmas was originally Pagan but we won't go there) for fear of offending Muslims. Now, i have no problem with them as a people, providing they accept that in coming to live in England they must accept our way of doing things. it's like going to China and forcing them to take down all statues of Buddha because we find them offensive, it just doesn't make sense!
Grr i'm winding myself up now. if i wasn't tired and it wasn't 00:35 then i'd carry on ranting, but as it is i think i'll save that for tomorrow

lol thanks. that kind of thing often gets me into trouble though, cos i tend to go about serious situations the wrong way - I.E. completly taking the piss out of the side that i think is wrong, and just generally being controversial and cynical. still, i like it, and it vents stress and anger

lol and my bebo picture, and my msn spaces picture (when i get around to changing it) and my facebook picture (when i can actually remember my password and be bothered to go on it) and my myspace picture (if i ever bother getting one) and... well it's just about everywhere lol

i dont think you were being cynical at all. I think you were trying to spread a very serrious subject to poeple who had no idea. The worlds becoming a sad place to live without spreading the truth of whats happening over there how would we find out? your trying to get poeple to care

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
